Pictures: Maryland Film Festival 101
The four best days for Baltimore movie lovers -- the 14th annual Maryland Film Festival -- unspool at and around the Charles Theatre May 3-6. Taking it all in can be daunting -- there are, after all, more than 100 films (including shorts and documentaries) vying for everyone's attention. Here are a few suggestions to maximize your experience.

Structure your day
Clearly, a plan of attack is called for. Check out the Maryland Film Festival website (mdfilmfest.com) for the day-by-day schedule, see what looks most interesting at any given time and make a beeline for that screening. On Friday, for example, you might start with Athina Rachel Tsangari's "Attenberg" at 11 a.m., then proceed to Jodi Wille and Maria Demopoulos' documentary "The Source" at 2 p.m. and Craig Zobel's button-pushing "Compliance" at 4:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., prepare yourself for the annual John Waters pick (Barbara Loden's 1970 "Wanda"), then cap off the night with "Blair Witch Project" director Eduardo Sanchez's exceedingly creepy "Lovely Molly." That's a varied playlist sure to give any filmgoer a delightful case of cinematic whiplash.
