If Kelly Clarkson is pregnant, she wasn't spilling word of it to Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" on Monday.
One thing she did make clear: She and new hubby Brandon Blackstock are indeed trying. "Practice makes perfect," she said. As a matter of fact, they're trying "like rabbits!," she told the talk-show host.
Leno had asked her directly, "Are you pregnant right now?," drawing a laughing reply of "What are you saying?" from the original "American Idol" as she played it coy.
The comedian wasn't giving up. "I always get these stars who come on and go, 'I'm thinking about having a baby,' " he said, "and then the next week they go on 'Ellen' and announce it there. So I'm asking you: Are you pregnant? Remember — you're under oath!"
"We're not announcing anything right now," Clarkson said, earning a roar from the audience.
(So, Miss Thing, that does leave the door open, right? Though perhaps we'll have to tune in to "Ellen" next week to find out.)
Clarkson did admit she wanted a bunch of kids with Blackstock, the father of two whom she married in a quiet Tennessee ceremony last month. She was almost hungering for a child of her own, it seemed.
"I want a little baby with little feet," she said with a smile, "and I just wanna bite 'em."
