On average, about 13.8 million people watched the two-hour season closer, according to early numbers. The show scored a rating of 3.9 in the 18-to-49 demographic, far outpacing its competition among advertiser-desired young adults.
Tuesday night's episode, in which Chin of Jamaica beat out Will Champlin and Jacquie Lee, was down around 20% from last year's fall finale in the demo, but it lost only 2% of its total audience, suggesting that the reality series is skewing older this time around.
NBC also had "Biggest Loser," which rose 5% from last week to a 2.0 in 18-to-49, helping NBC top the other major networks in the demo.
CBS took the night in total viewership, with "NCIS" leading the way with 19.4 million in the audience. "NCIS" fell slightly week-to-week to a 2.8, while "NCIS: Los Angeles" (15.3 million viewers overall) was flat at a 2.4, and "Person of Interest" drew a 1.9, down 14% from its last original episode three weeks ago.
ABC was in reruns except for "ABC News: What Would You Do?" which drew 2.48 million viewers and a 0.7 rating.
Fox was in all repeats.
