"The ultimate in British engineering.... Aston Martin call it the Vanquish, we call it the Vanish," John Cleese's character told Bond (Pierce Brosnan) when introducing this Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, here getting some air as it's pursued by Zao's Jaguar XKR. Among the usual MI6 add-ons -- rockets, an ejector seat -- this 007 ride featured a cloaking device that rendered it virtually invisible. That struck some fans and critics as too over the top, even for Bond. The franchise rebooted in 2006 with the more grounded "Casino Royale."
