It is synonymous with sexy: a firm, plump pout.

Angelina Jolie's lips have been called one of the sexiest things in the world, inspiring research articles and wannabes. Women want big lips, saying things like, "I don't know why you wouldn't" and "It makes you feel a little more voluptuous."

And men want women to have them, telling us, "They do seem a little more juicier, I guess you could say" and maybe they mean "She's a better kisser. Her lip gloss will stand out more. Her smile will seem bigger."

Plano woman Brittany DeWald has been getting her lips enhanced for years. It's a cosmetic procedure that can cost up to $700. It's money well spent, the 25-year old says, for something that makes her feel sexier and more self-confident. Brittany Dewald says, "You don't have to use the lip liner, the lipsticks, the Chapsticks as much, which alleviates some of the stress of maintaining a physical appearance."

Physician Assistant Carol Robinson says it's a very popular procedure. She does half a dozen lip enhancements a week at U Boutique and Med Spa in Plano. This afternoon, 25 year old Hope Clark of Plano is looking for natural lips, not huge ones. The cosmetic procedure officially ends her long-term relationship with over-the-counter lip volumizers. She says, "I just think fuller lips are more attractive."

Carol Robinson says product improvement has boosted the popularity of injectable fillers. She says, "It's an easy procedure to have done. It's very natural looking. And they can achieve it within an hour's time frame."

That's about how long it will take for Hope Clark's swelling to go down, but already the bee-sting results are in. She says, "I think I'm going to love it."
