This is a great red wine value highlighting one of California's most underappreciated grapes: petite sirah. This intensely fruity, full-bodied wine gives the impression of sweetness without actual sugar. That's a good thing. For a relatively inexpensive wine, it offers a complex mix of flavors: coffee, chocolate, blackberry, blueberry. Petite sirahs can be rough when young but this has smoothed out nicely at three years.
