Kitty Smith's Molasses Lace Cookies
Submitted by: Dell Smith, Baltimore Makes: 4 dozen 1/2 cup of butter, softened 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup molasses, robust or dark 1 cup sweetened coconut 2 cups flour Cream butter; add brown sugar (free from lumps). Add other ingredients in order given. Put batter in refrigerator overnight. Drop by teaspoon onto well-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove immediately from pan with metal spatula. Cookies will keep well stored in an airtight container between layers of waxed paper. |
