With new food trucks rolling out every couple months, it can be hard to keep track of them all.
Here are three of the more notable Baltimore food trucks, from burgers to soups.
Chowhound Burger Wagon
Generally acknowledged as the pace-setter in Baltimore's food truck fleet, Chowhound started serving burgers on the go back in the fall of 2009. Veggie, beef, bison and turkey burgers are cooked on the spot and served alongside regular or sweet potato fries. The Chowhound is run by the same folks behind Kooper's Tavern in Fells Point.
Gypsy Queen Cafe
Gypsy Queen Cafe started rolling just after the first of the year and quickly made an impression with a varied menu of burgers, salads and sandwiches. Gypsy Queen is Annmarie Langton and Tom Looney's follow-up to Helen's Garden, their popular Canton restaurant that closed last year. Their signature item is a waffle cone stuffed with creamy mac-and-cheese and topped with a bacon relish.
The Souper Freak debuted this spring with Irene Smith at the wheel. It was Smith's May 11 encounter with a city bureaucrat that set off a chain reaction of events that led to the formation of the Baltimore Food Truck Association.
