Drinking at CNR was easy. The beer was cold and the mugs were always full.

Given Chef McClure's skill in the kitchen, eating should be that easy, too. If the servers gave the food the same attention they gave the beer, it would be.

Cowboys & Rednecks

Back story: Federal Hill resident Guy Naylor opened Cowboys & Rednecks in November 2011, adding country flair to the neighborhood. Chef Shawn McClure, formerly of Ryleigh's Oyster, came on board during the summer of 2012.

Parking: Street parking and West Street parking garage, 40 E. West St.

Signature dish: Try the pit beef with sweet potato tots and tart vinegar slaw. Though it is served cold, the beef is moist, with subtle smoky flavor that pairs well with the bright, crunchy slaw.
