Valentine's Day specials at Baltimore-area restaurants

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Baltimore-area restaurants are preparing to serve romantic specials.

Some of the area’s most prominent restaurants are dishing out special menus for the holiday, and some are part of hotel package deals. Most restaurants require reservations.

Aida Bistro & Wine Bar will serve a four-course menu for $75. The menu includes cream of crab soup, ricotta gnudi, a half-rack of lamb and linguine with lobster, shrimp and crab. (6741 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia; 410-953-0500.)

Alexander’s Tavern will host Valentine’s Day for the whole family. The restaurant will serve an order of tater tots, pizza and two drinks for $25, or an appetizer, two entrees and a bottle of wine for $49. Kids under age 12 will eat for free, and the restaurant will offer babysitting in its upstairs section for children ages three and older at no additional charge. (710 S. Apropoe’s in the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel will offer a three-course menu for $68. Menu options were not immediately available. (700 Aliceanna St., Harbor East; 410-895-1879.)

Azumi will offer a five-course prix-fixe menu ranging from $95-$235 based on the entree chosen. Menu options include Hamachi jalapeno, rock shrimp tempura, miso black cod and a whole Maine lobster onigariyaki. (725 Aliceanna St., Harbor East; 443-220-0477.)

B&O American Brasserie will serve a four-course dinner for $75 each. The menu will include roasted oysters, soft-boiled eggs topped with caviar, coriander-spiced duck breast, winter harvest paella, chocolate and chili souffle, and vanilla cheesecake. (2 N. Charles St., downtown; 443-692-6172.)

Bar Vasquez will serve a three-course menu for $85. The menu includes options such as wood-grilled foie gras, beef tartare, octopus, filet mignon, pineapple tatin and chocolate hazelnut mousse cake. (1425 Aliceanna St., Harbor East; 410-534-7296.)

Birroteca will offer Valentine’s Day specials Feb. 14-21, with dishes such as scallops for two, charred octopus and smoked beet carpaccio. (1520 Clipper Road, Hampden; 443-708-1934.)

The Boathouse Canton will offer a three-course meal for $57 per couple, including a shared appetizer, two entrees, shared dessert and two glasses of sparkling wine. The special will be available Feb. 14-18. (2809 Boston St., Canton; 410-773-9795.)

The Bygone will offer a four-course prix-fixe menu for $175. Menu options include grilled quail, prime rib au jus, a 16-ounce Delmonico steak and cherries jubilee sundae. (400 International Drive, 29th floor, Harbor East; 443-343-8200.)

Charleston will offer two separate five-course menus (the “X” and “O” menus) for $169, or $239 with wine. Menu options include foie gras and pork loin terrine, grilled elk tenderloin, Meyer lemon tart, porcini mushroom bisque, pan-roasted magret of duck and dark Madagascar chocolate mousse. Cinghiale will offer a four-course meal for $99, with paired wines for three courses for an additional $40. The menu includes warm forest mushroom salad, Wagyu beef bresaola, garganelli verde, grilled bronzino, braised veal breast and amaro roasted pear. (822 Lancaster St., Harbor East; 410-547-8282.)

Cosima will serve a three-course menu for $100, with wine pairings for an extra charge. Menu options include roasted and raw oysters, roasted lobster, pan-seared rockfish and chocolate mousse cake. (3000 Falls Road, Hampden; 443-708-7352.)

The Elephant will serve a “love-inspired” four-course menu for $85 ($115 with wine pairings). The menu includes dishes such as hearts of palm salad, blood orange-glazed duck breast, wild mushroom and quail paella for two, and chocolate soup. (924 N. Charles St., Mount Vernon; 443-447-7878.)

Encantada will offer a three-course menu for $65. Menu options include roasted pepper and tomato bisque, Nashville cauliflower, hanger steak, seared scallops, red velvet cupcakes and raw carrot cake. (800 Key Highway, Federal Hill; 410-752-1000.)

Flamant will offer two Valentine’s Day seatings at 6 p.m. at 8:30 p.m. The restaurant will serve a four-course menu with options such as steamed king crab, grilled octopus, lacquered bass with carrot caviar, lamb chops and banana beignets. The French Kitchen at the Lord Baltimore Hotel will offer Valentine’s Day specials a la carte, including velvet tomato soup, warm lentil salad, crab fondue, beef bourguignon, wild mushroom risotto, creme brulee and almond pavlova. (20 W. Baltimore St., downtown; 410-539-8400.)

George Martin’s Grillfire will serve a special a la carte menu for Valentine’s Day, in addition to a four-course, prix-fixe menu for $55 from Feb. 12-18. (7793-A Arundel Mills Boulevard, Hanover; 410-799-2883.)

Germano’s Piattini will serve Valentine’s Day specials such as the $48 Bistecca Fiorentina for two (a 24-ounce porterhouse steak with Brussels sprouts and fries with truffle oil) and special cocktails such as the “Love Potion No. 9” (prosecco, pomegranate juice, blackberry liqueur and fresh blackberry). Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore will offer two different prix-fixe options. The first menu allows diners to choose from an appetizer, soup or salad and entree; the second option allows couples to share an entree, each choose one side and share dessert. Each menu is $175 per couple, and wine pairings are an additional $50. (1525 Russell St.; 443-931-4254.)

Gunther & Co. will serve a four-course menu starting at $85, plus $25 for wine pairings. The menu includes options such as ahi tuna poke, sweet soy-glazed quail, burrata, duck confit ravioli, wagyu short rib shabu shabu, vanilla saffron poached lobster and chocolate-orange pots de creme. Johnny’s will serve a three-course dinner for $35. The menu includes tomato soup, Caesar salad, jumbo shrimp, steak with a crab cake, and bread pudding. (4800 Roland Ave., Roland Park; 410-773-0777.)

Le Bistro du Village will serve a three-course menu with a glass of champagne for $52. The menu includes escargot, herbed polenta cakes, whole bronzini, filet mignon and crepe Suzette. (1609 Sulgrave Ave., Mount Washington; 410-542-9000.)

Lebanese Taverna will offer a three-course dinner for $45, with wine pairings for an additional $20. Menu options were not immediately available. (719 S. President St., Harbor East; 410-244-5533.)

Loch Bar will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu ranging from $49-$115 based on the entree chosen. Menu options include mushroom tart, paella, diver scallops and lobster tail imperial. (240 International Drive, Harbor East; 443-961-8949.)

Osteria 177 will offer a four-course menu for $85. The menu includes options such as beef carpaccio, tuna crudo, Australian lamb chops, veal scallopini, seared dorado, and mixed berries with salted caramel gelato. (177 Main St., Annapolis; 410-267-7700.)

Ouzo Bay will offer a four-course prix-fixe menu ranging from $75-$125 based on the entree chosen. Menu options include lamb tartare, bronzino, butternut squash risotto with truffle and panna cotta. (1000 Lancaster St., Harbor East; 443-708-5818.)

Pairings Bistro will offer a five-course menu with wine pairings for $89 at the restaurant and at Rockfield Manor (501 E Churchville Road, Bel Air). Petit Louis Bistro will offer a four-course menu for $79 or $119 with wine pairings. Dishes include shellfish bisque, smoked salmon, artichoke salad, duck leg confit, pan-roasted scallops, grilled ribeye and sticky toffee pudding. (4800 Roland Ave., Roland Park; 410-366-9393.)

Rec Pier Chop House will serve a four-course menu for $85, with wine pairings for an extra $45. The menu includes hamachi crudo, roasted beets, seared octopus, Maryland rockfish cacciatore, a petite filet and tiramisu. (1715 Thames St., Fells Point; 443-552-1300.)

Regi’s American Bistro will offer a two-course Valentine’s Day dinner for $49.50. The meal will include a Caesar or mixed greens salad, steamed or whole-roasted lobster, loaded baked potato, broccoli and sparkling rose. (1002 Light St., Federal Hill; 410-539-7344.)

Rusty Scupper will offer a special Valentine’s Day menu with items including grilled seabass, jumbo lump crab cakes, filet mignon and stuffed lobster tail.(402 Key Highway, Inner Harbor; 410-727-3678.)

Rye Street Tavern will serve a three-course menu for $95 per person, with optional wine pairings for $55. The menu includes steak tartare, stone crab claws, dry-aged duck breast, sweet potato gnocchi, Carolina gold rice pudding and dark chocolate fondant. (225 E. Tagliata will offer a four-course prix-fixe menu ranging from $75-$135 based on the entree chosen. Menu options include Tuscan kale salad, lobster ravioli, black bass and chocolate mousse cake. (1012 Fleet St., Harbor East; 410-244-5830.)

Tersiguel’s French Country Restaurant will offer a four-course menu for $80, with options including scallops, filet mignon, fennel salad and dessert. No a la carte service will be offered. (8293 Main St., Ellicott City; 410-465-4004.)

Wit & Wisdom will serve a three-course menu starting at $95, with wine pairings for an additional $59 and extra sides for $9 each. The menu includes Chesapeake oysters on the half-shell, kale and butternut squash salad, farro risotto, Maine lobster Thermidor and curry-roasted cauliflower. Woodberry Kitchen is celebrating Valentine’s Day from Feb. 9-18. The restaurant will offer special touches for tables available by pre-ordering with a reservation at Woodberry Kitchen. The options include Linzer cookies, boxes of chocolates made in-house, and a selection of festive cocktails for two.* The restaurant will also have a complimentary photo booth with take-home prints for guests.
