Minnow, a new restaurant from La Cuchara owners, opens next week

A new seafood restaurant by the brothers behind La Cuchara is preparing to open next week.

Minnow, Ben and Jake Lefenfeld’s second restaurant, is located on the first floor of the 2 East Wells apartment building in South Baltimore.

Construction is wrapping up this week, and the 135-seat restaurant is aiming to open during the first week of May (an official date will be announced on its social media pages May 1).

Minnow will serve seafood dishes such as bluefin tuna crudo, soft-shell crab BLTs and chilled poached salmon nicoise. Most dishes will range from $11-$25.

Chef Drew Lesoveck, previously of the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group, will head the day-to-day kitchen operations under chef Ben Lefenfeld, who will remain at La Cuchara.

Jake Lefenfeld, who will serve as general manager of Minnow, will oversee the bar program alongside Marco Valverde, previously sommelier at the Elephant. Cocktails will range from $8 to $11, and Minnow will offer a rotating selection of draft beer and a 100-bottle wine list.
