The best food and drink in Maryland, according to the Daily Meal

Looking for the best apple pie in Maryland? Head to Dangerously Delicious Pies. For the state’s best cupcake, try Bel Air’s Flavor Cupcakery & Bake Shop. At least, that’s what The Daily Meal suggests.

The website on Friday released its picks for best foods and drinks in Maryland across 25 categories. The Maryland guide was one of 51 ultimate guides the Daily Meal released highlighting the best food and drink in each state and Washington, D.C.

“Maryland’s cuisine has a lot to offer in terms of flavor and experience,” the Daily Meal’s Maryland guide reads. “Want to find a destination with a stellar cold beer and a world-class crab cake to make the trip worth your while? Head to Maryland.”

The site acknowledged Maryland’s food scene goes beyond crab cakes and beer, and many of its top picks were from the Baltimore area. For best food truck, the Daily Meal suggests the Jolly Pig, which serves all things pork. The shout-out for best Mexican restaurant went to Tortilleria Sinaloa. Johnny Rad’s was named the state’s best spot for pizza. And the guide called La Tavola the best Italian restaurant in Maryland.
