Chef Brian Lavin named to Zagat's '30 Under 30'

Gnocco chef and owner Brian Lavin has been named to Zagat’s first national “30 under 30” list.

Lavin, 29, is the only Baltimore chef on the list, which incorporates “some of the best, brightest and most badass hospitality players from coast to coast.”

Lavin, previously of Salt and Fork & Wrench, opened Gnocco last year in Brewers Hill at 3734 Fleet St. with his friend Sam White, general manager and partner in the restaurant.

Serving up Mediterranean eats, Gnocco was inspired by their travels to Italy and Spain.

Zagat, which rates restaurants based on diner reviews and publishes dining guides in different cities, has previously released 30-under-30 lists for individual cities, but this year’s national list is the first of its kind.

The list includes culinary professionals from across the country, from beverage directors to cookie dough mavens. The top 30 were narrowed from a list of 60 nominees announced in April.

Lavin’s profile and information about other finalists can be found here.
