Bonchon, Halal Guys opening new restaurants in Columbia, Pasadena

Howard County diners will soon have new options for Korean fried chicken and gyros as two chains prepare to open restaurants in Columbia.

Bonchon, a Korean fried chicken chain, and the Halal Guys, which got its start as a New York food cart, are opening locations in Columbia.

The Halal Guys eatery is expected to open this summer at 10100 Twin Rivers Road in the M.Flats and Ten.M apartment complex, where Bonchon will also be housed, according to posts on their Facebook pages.

In addition to the Columbia location, Bonchon is also planning a location in Pasadena, according to its website.

Bonchon has a number of locations in Maryland, including restaurants in Canton, Crofton, Hanover, Ellicott City and Owings Mills.

The Halal Guys’ sole Maryland location is in Rockville.

Representatives from Bonchon did not return requests for comment, and representatives from the Halal Guys could not immediately be reached.
