The executive sous chef of the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hotel will have the chance to face off against celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a Food Network show that airs next week.
Kiran Patnam, the hotel’s executive sous chef, will compete on the Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay” in an episode airing at 10 p.m. Jan. 11.
During the episode, titled “Clamming Up,” “Chopped” judges Amanda Freitag and Geoffrey Zakarian will decide whether Patnam or fellow contestant Jonathan Wu will take on Flay.
Dishes Patnam creates during the show will be added to the menu at Apropoe’s, the restaurant at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, beginning Jan. 12.
Patnam isn’t the first Baltimore chef to appear on “Beat Bobby Flay.” Charleston chef Cindy Wolf and Tony Minadakis of Jimmy’s Famous Seafood competed on the show last year.
