Angeli's Pizzeria to open in Little Italy's former Pacific Coast Dining Co.

Angeli’s Pizzeria will open sometime this fall in the former Pacific Coast Dining Co. space on South High Street in Little Italy.

The restaurant will serve New York-style pizza baked in a stone oven, said owner Cem Ari. He also owns Zella’s Pizzeria on Hollins Street and Toss on York Road.

Angeli’s will offer made-to-order pies or pizza by the slice. The menu will be available for dine-in and carry-out with plans to add delivery and catering.

He hopes to secure a liquor license and keep the restaurant open until midnight, Ari said, if the community welcomes the proposals.

Pacific Coast Dining Co. opened in 2011, and closed two years later.

Ari said decided to open in Little Italy because it’s “a growing area.”

The owner also said he was motivated to open the pizzeria because of increased competition among pizza shops, some of which he said were imitating his recipes. He hopes to bring originality to his latest pizzeria.

“We’re going back to our roots,” Ari said. “And we’re going to be more secretive about our recipe.”
