It wasn't so much Queen Victoria as the London tube station named for her, Victoria Station, that Randy Marriner had in mind when he went to name his Columbia gastropub. That, and his daughter, Victoria, who everyone now knows as Tori. Here's how Marriner told the story back in April 2012:
"We named it after Tori (and she'll be 30 next month) and since we're Maryland's first gastropub and since the gastropub concept began in London, we chose Victoria from the London Metro. We actually named all our dining areas from tube stops on the Victoria Line: Seven Sisters, Oxford Circus, Warren Street, Kings Cross, Blackhorse Road, Highbury Terrace and the Station Bar."
