Critic's picks: Roy's( Barbara Haddock Taylor, Baltimore Sun / February 3, 2011 )
What makes Roy's unusual among restaurant groups is the degree of autonomy given to the chefs at each of its 30 restaurants. Taking over from Rey Eugenio last year, the energetic and ambitious Patrick "Opie" Crooks has infused the Harbor East location with some needed energy, adding his own creative stamp while staying true to the Hawaiian fusion model created by founder Roy Yamaguchi. Roy's is in full revival.--Richard Gorelick
