Uber, the San-Francisco-based tech company that connects riders with licensed town cars and SUVs, is giving its members in 33 cities, including Baltimore, an extra option on Friday.

In addition to its standard options, Uber users will be able to use their smart phones to summon an ice cream truck.

Uber is partnering with established ice cream trucks for the promotion, which will be available in Baltimore from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for on-demand ice cream? Uber users will pay $25 for five treats, and, like always with Uber, no cash will change hands; the cost is deducted from the banking card the user has on file with the tech company.

Uber launched in Baltimore in February 2013. "We have been growing by 20 to 30 percent month over month," said Rachel Holt, general manager of Uber on the East Coast.
