Outdoor dining spots in Baltimore [Pictures]
Let's get outside and enjoy some fresh air -- these are our favorite outdoor eating spots in Baltimore. We included some of the best waterfront locations, especially those places that have taken full advantage of their setting with thought-out patio designs; none of those wobbly table and spindly chair deals. We also included our favorite sidewalk cafes, because nothing beats a good people-watching vantage point on a hot summer night, and a few backyard patios, too. Because sometimes, all you need is to be outside, enjoying every second of the year's longest days. -- Richard Gorelick

When you dine outside at Gertrude's, John Shields' restaurant at the Baltimore Museum of Art, you're not only basking in the natural beauty of majestic trees and fragrant plantings, you're soaking up some pretty fine art, too. Gertrude's flagstone terrace is surrounded by the museum's Janet and Alan Wurtzburger Sculpture Garden and overlooks the gently sloping acres of the Ryda and Robert H. Levi Sculpture Garden. Consider it refreshment for the body and the soul. Throw in some live jazz, and it can't be beat.
