Tooloulou is moving from Lauraville to Belvedere Square.

The Cajun eatery will open in Belvedere Square's main market building later this spring, according to chef-owner Shawn Lagergren.

Lagergren said he considered operating Tooloulou at both Belvedere Square and the Harford Road location that he opened in January 2011. But he decided he didn't want to entrust either location to anyone else.

"We were going to try to keep [the Harford Road location] going," Lagergren said, "but if I can't be there every day, I would worry about potentially disappointing customers."

Lagergren said he plans to keep the Lauraville location open until he opens at Belvedere Square.

Lagergren said that recent renovations to Belvedere Square, along with the property's expanded evening hours, were part of the reason he decided to make the move. He plans for Tooloulou to serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday and to stay open until 9 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday nights.

Tooloulou will occupy part of the space formerly held by Planet Produce, which has been relocated within the market. It will join other new tenants in the market, including Hex Ferments and Jinji Pure Chocolates, which occupy stalls near Atwater's soup bar. Coming later this spring is Tenzin Noodle Bar, which will move into the former Ikan Sushi space.
