The Original SoupMan back story is a little soupy. Al Yeganeh's original store on 55th Street in Manhattan opened in 1984, years before the 1995 airing of the "Seinfeld" infamous "Soup Nazi" episode.
The 55th Street store, which operated by Yeganeh's idiosyncratic but actually common-sensical rules, was called Soup Kitchen International, but it now bears the name of the Original SoupMan franchise.
The packaged soups have only recently been distributed nationwide in a shelf-stable recyclable Tetra Recart carton that maintains the flavor and quality of the soups.
The Original SoupMan soups are available in four "signature flavors": lobster bisque, chicken noodle, lentil and tomato basil.
