Ryleigh's Oyster has launched a series of evening oyster voyages on board the historic skipjack Sigsbee.
Each oyster voyage is a two-hour sailing excursion on board the Sigsbee, which served in the Chesapeake Bay oyster fleet for 88 years and is now used by Living Classrooms for educational programs.
The excursions are part of a new partnership between Ryleigh's and the non-profit education organization. The Federal Hill restaurant will be raising awareness and funds for the skipjack's upkeep and maintenance at its annual October Oysterfest and shucking championship, according to a press statement announcing Ryleigh's "adoption" of the Sigsbee.
The next oyster voyage is June 6. Tickets are $80 and include unlimited oysters, beer, wine and Ryleigh's potent crushes. Tickets are being sold on Missiontix.
The cruises depart from the pier at Frederick-Douglass-Isaac Meyer's Maritime Park, where the skipjack is docked.
