It's almost ravioli time at St. Leo's [Pictures]
Twice a year, in March and November, St. Leo the Great, a Roman Catholic parish in Little Italy, hosts a ravioli and spaghetti dinner fundraiser. And every year, volunteers gather at the parish's former school building to prepare tens of thousands of ravioli. An additional meatball-making session is traditionally held on the day before the Sunday dinner. Anyone is invited to volunteer, and newcomers are given training before the work begins. This year's ravioli-making marathons are scheduled for Feb. 8 and 15. Sessions usually go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and lunch is provided. For information about volunteering, call the parish office at 410-675-7275.
