Pete's Grille looking for pancake eaters

The Baltimore Sun

Pete's Grille has announced the date and time for its 22nd annual Pancake Eating Contest. The amateur-only eating competition will be Nov. 22 at 7 a.m

The Abell neighborhood breakfast and lunch favorite, a favorite of Olympian Michael Phelps, will once again break the contest into women's and men's divisions. The winner of each contest - whoever eats the most pancakes in one hour - will win a cash prize.

The all-time winner men's record is 18 pancakes, and the women's record is 12. The record-holders get to eat for free at Pete's Grille as long as they hold their records.

Spectators are welcome at the contest, and Pete's is looking for new participants, too. Interested eaters should stop by Pete's Grille, 3130 Greenmount Ave., to sign up starting Nov. 4, Monday through Friday.
