Marilyn Hagerty reviews the Olive Garden

The most memorable line of food writing in 2012 could turn to to be, "All in all, it is the largest and most beautiful restaurant now operating in Grand Forks." Marilyn Hagerty, an 85-year-old columnist for the Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald, filed her Wednesday THE EATBEAT column on March 7 at midnight. By midday Thursday, "Long-awaited Olive Garden receives warm welcome" had gone viral. Something about Hagerty's ingenuousness style, which on closer inspection was more like deadpan, made people snicker, at least at first. Hagerty turned out to nobody's full. "Very much enjoying watching Internet sensation Marilyn Hagerty triumph over the snarkologists (myself included)," Anthony Bourdain posted on his Twitter account.
