The Baltimore-based Mission BBQ will add three locations in 2013, with plans to open 40 restaurants nationwide by 2018
The upcoming expansion for the patriotic-themed restaurant, where the National Anthem is played every day at noon, will add branches in St. Mary's County -- in the town of California -- and Canton, and York, Pa. The new locations will appear, respectively, in July, October and at the end of the year.
The Canton location will be in the Shops at Canton Crossing, the 325,000-square-foot-center retail center under construction on Boston Street. Other restaurants that have signed leases there include Samos, Jimmy John's and Yogi Castle frozen yogurt.
Founded by Bill Kraus, a former Under Armour executive, and Steve Newton, a former regional vice president with Outback Steakhouse, the first Mission BBQ opened in Glen Burnie in 2011. A second location, in Perry Hall, opened in November 2012.
