Maryland Live Casino is hosting a series of celebrity chef appearances and giveaways throughout the month in a series the Hanover casino has dubbed "Cheftober."
Every Friday throughout the month, the Hanover casino will host a celebrity chef meet-and-greet for guests. The events kicked off last week with a visit from Chef Todd English of PBS's "Food Trip with Todd English." This week, "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro will visit the casino Friday, followed by chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay on Oct. 21 and "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi on Oct. 28.
Each chef's visit corresponds with a chance to win a related trip. On Friday, guests have a chance to win a specialty cake and a trip to Valastro's bakery in Hoboken, N.J., Carlo's Bakery. Guests can enter Oct. 21 to win a trip to Gato, Flay's New York City Mediterranean restaurant. And Oct. 28 casino visitors will be eligible to win a trip to a filming of "Top Chef."
Drawings will take place every Friday in October from 6-10 p.m., and the casino will award 25 winners per day for 100 winners total.
On Thursdays throughout October, the casino will also offer a chance for guests to win more prizes inspired by the chefs. Live Rewards members who earn 500 points from 6-7:30 a.m. on Thursdays in October will receive a voucher for a gift, including an eight-piece kitchen tool set, muffin pan, 12-piece grill set and dipping bowls.
"Cheftober" comes just after Maryland Live Casino added two new dining options to its lineup. The newest restaurant additions include En Vivo, a Latin American street food restaurant, and 8 at Luk Fu, a sushi-focused expansion of Luk Fu, the casino's Asian restaurant.
