Langermann's took home the judges' prize at a Restaurant Week kick off competition held Wednesday at Harborplace. The Canton restaurant bested the competition in the "First Course/Appetizer Challenge" with its appetizer of pepper-crusted tuna in a pepper jam-avocado dressing.

The People’s Choice was awarded to The Food Market for their spicy shrimp with grilled pineapple. The best use of locally sourced ingredients went to Luna Del Sea for their Flash Seared Wagyu Carpaccio.

Some 100 restaurants have signed up to participate in Baltimore's Summer Restaurant Week, which begins Friday and runs through Aug. 5. During the 10-day event, restaurants are offering three-course (set) dinner menus for $30.12 or $20.12 per person, not including liquor, tax or gratuity. Select restaurants will also offer a two-course lunch menu for $15.12, not including liquor, tax or gratuity.
