The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille introduced a new limited-time-offer menu featuring seven new "hearty season" food and drink selections on Monday. Through Dec. 9, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to local food banks in each state where the chain operates. The Greene Turtle is calling the fundraising effort "The Big Helping."
The new menu includes comfort foods like country fried chicken, shepherd's pie, chili, and a special twist on potato skins featuring bacon and bleu cheese, as well as specialty items like cedar plank salmon, a wild turkey wrap and a pumpkin pie milkshake. One dollar from each sale of the food items will be donated to the food banks.
All locations of The Greene Turtle in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington (with the exception of the chain’s BWI Airport restaurant) are offering the menu and participating in the fundraising effort, benefiting the Maryland Food Bank, the Capital Area Food Bank, the Food Bank of Delaware, the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia, Virginia Peninsula Food Bank and the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank.
First opened in Ocean City in 1976, The Greene Turtle today includes 34 locations in markets across Maryland and extending into Washington, D.C., Virginia and Delaware. You can see the new menu and read more about "The Big Helping" on The Greene Turtle's website.
