A July 26 beer dinner at Gertrude's will feature an all-star line-up of Baltimore brews -- Loose Cannon, Resurrection, Snake Dog, Existent, and more.
Longtime Baltimore Sun food journalist author Rob Kasper hosts the Locavore Beer Tasting, which celebrates the release of his new book, "Baltimore Beer: A Satisfying History of Charm City Brewing."
Some of Baltimore's classic beers will be featured, including brews from Heavy Seas, Brewer's Art, Flying Dog and Stillwater Artisanal Ales. And complimenting the tasting will be an array of Charm City culinary specialties like Old Bay popcorn, coddies, grilled beer-smoked sausages. Dessert sounds awesome -- fried ice cream empanadas with Stillwater folklore ice cream, Brewer's Art Resurrection creme brulee and Heavy Seas Peg Leg Stout macaroons.
The cost is $40. There is limited seating, so call Gertrude's now at 410-889-3399.
Autographed copies of Baltimore Beer will be available for purchase at the event.
