Sure, Baltimore is crab country, but sometimes, you just want a lobster.
Gertrude's is running a Lobsterama special on Thursday nights in August. Diners can choose between a 1 1/4 pound New England lobster, simply steamed, for $24.95 or a Maryland-style lobster tail, stuffed with crab imperial for $29.95. Each option comes with a baked potato, coleslaw and Maryland sweet white corn on the cob. Gertrude's is recommending customers call in to reserve their lobsters.
And Germano's in Little Italy is offering a lobster fra diavolo special for the entire month of August. For $17.95, diners get a whole lobster served over linguine al dente in a spicy fresh tomato sauce.
Baltimore County Restaurant Week — which is actually 2 1/2 weeks long — starts Friday and runs through Aug. 25. More than 50 restaurants have signed up for the dining promotion, which is sponsored by the Baltimore County Office of Tourism & Promotion and the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce.
Participating restaurants will be offering special two- or three-course lunch and dinner menus priced for $15, $25 or $35. A restaurant may choose to offer more than one special menu at different price points.

This week's Friday food truck rally, The Gathering, moves to the Baltimore Museum of Industry. That's from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. General admission is free, but all-you-can-drink wristband and V.I.P. tables can be purchased online here.
And Baltimore Restaurant Week, the city's dining promotion, may have officially ended on Sunday, but more than 20 restaurants are extending their special menus and deals, at least through this Sunday. You can see a list of the extenders on the official Baltimore Restaurant Week website.
