Fazzini's will take over Piv's location in Cockeysville

The owner of Fazzini's Italian Kitchen on Cranbrook Road will take over the old Piv's location on York Road in Cockeysville.

Ari Brownstein, who purchased Fazzini's in 2010, said he will close the Cranbrook location and reopen on York Road as Fazzini's Taverna. Brownstein said the move should be complete within the next few months.

"Our regulars will still be able to get most of the dishes we serve at Fazzini’s currently," Brownstein said. "But we're adding more authentic Mediterranean and Italian dishes.

Brownstein said the focus at Fazzini's Taverna will be on a more social dining experience and that the name change is in part to convey that the restaurant has a beer, wine and liquor license.

The Piv's space will also allow him to do more private parties and corporate events, Brownstein said.

"We’re very hungry," Brownstein said. "We're not going to wait around for business to come to us."
