The New York-based Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is headed to Baltimore. The restaurant will open sometime in 2015 in the Union Marketplace development on Fleet Street.
The original Dino BBQ, as the restaurant is familiarly known, opened in Syracuse in 1988. There are now a total of eight locations, all in upstate New York and the New York metropolitan region.
A spokeswoman for Dino BBQ confirmed that the restaurant was planning a Baltimore opening for sometime next year but had no other details to share. A Chicago location has also been announced for 2015.
The restaurant's founder, John Stage, who started his barbecue business at various motorcycle gatherings and festivals along the East Coast, was on vacation and was not available for comment, the spokeswoman said.
