Baltimore's 20th annual Dining Out for Life fundraiser is scheduled for Sept. 19. Some 40 Baltimore area restaurants are participating in the dining event, with proceeds going to Moveable Feast, a provider of meals for people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging conditions.
Restaurants participating in Dining Out for Life agree to donate at least 20 percent of their check total to Moveable Feast, but some restaurants contribute more, as much as 50 percent.
Among the restaurants participating this year are The Brewer's Art, Clementine, Woodberry Kitchen, Jack's Bistro, SoBo Cafe and Waterstone Bar and Grille. A complete list of restaurants with details about their pledged donations is on the Dining Out for Life website.
The first Dining Out for Life event was staged in 1991 by ActionAIDS, a Philadelphia non-profit, and the first Baltimore Dining Out for Life event was in 1992. Held every year in almost 60 cities throughout the United States and Canada, Dining Out for Life events are coordinated by Dining Out for Life International.
