After two years, Sarah Acconcia has left 13.5% Wine Bar to pursue other projects. Kate Erwin Ward, formerly the sous chef at 13.5, is taking over the stove at the popular Hampden spot.
A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, Ward has spent time cooking throughout New England, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, according to 13.5
manager Joe McLean.
In an emailed message, McLean said that Ward "has studied wine extensively in Italy, making her uniquely suited to her position at 13.5. We look forward to a bright future with her in the kitchen."
Acconcia, who served on b's Ravens panel
this season, said she will be launching a new project soon but has no immediate plans to take on another kitchen assignment. Her last day at 13.5 was Sunday.
