Petit Louis Bistro

Before his Baltimore-set independent films "Hamilton," "Putty Hill" and "I Used to Be Darker" reached international audiences, the film director Matt Porterfield worked in Baltimore restaurants, including those in what is now known as the Foreman Wolf group. Porterfield remains a fan of all of Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf's restaurants, but he singled out Petit Louis Bistro, a long-running French restaurant in Roland Park. "From the ambiance to the impeccable service, everything about this Roland Park bistro is right on," Porterfield said. "I feel just as happy standing at their bar for a poached egg, some pommes frites, and a glass of petillant [a semi-sparkling wine] at 9 p.m. on a weeknight as I do celebrating my mom's birthday with a four-course brunch and a bottle of Puligny-Montrachet."
