The owner of Blob's Park, the storied 81-year-old Jessup beer garden that played its last polka in March, has taken over the Hanover restaurant space that was Gunning's Seafood Restaurant. Max Eggerl, whose great uncle founded Blob's Park, opened Bavarian Brauhaus (7304 Parkway Drive South, 410-712-0400, thebavarianbrauhaus.com) in late August. The restaurant features a menu of German food in a fine-dining atmosphere, and the bar has been redone to create a rathskeller-like atmosphere. (photo courtesy Bavarian Brauhaus /September 19, 2014)
Cafe Poupon (225 N. Charles St. 443-573-4620, patisseriepoupon.net), a cafe version of Joseph Poupon's Baltimore Street patisserie, opened March 18 in the storefront space adjoining the Grand Historic Venue.
