Outfitted with a central serpentine dining counter with vivid green leather seats, a full service bar and an outdoor patio, the new BBP will open to the public at 10 p.m. on Wednesday as part of the casino's grand opening.
Launched by Flay in July 2008, BBP presents an array of burgers inspired by the chef's extensive travels throughout the United States. The first outpost opened in Lake Grove, N.Y. on Long Island. A location opened in October 2011 in College Park.
In addition to such regionally inspired cooked-to-order burgers as the Philadelphia (provolone, griddled onions and hot peppers), the Dallas (spice-crusted with coleslaw Monterey Jack, barbecue sauce and pickles) and the Santa Fe (queso sauce, pickled jalapenos, and blue corn chips), the BBP menu includes 10 varieties of malted and milkshakes, hand-cut french fries with Flay's BBP Fry Sauce, beer-battered onion rings, griddle sandwiches.
You can swap out the Certified Angus Beef for a turkey burger or a grilled chicken breast, and you can order any combination without the bread. You can also order a burger 'crunchified' at no cost. "My side of chips always ended up in my burger," Flay says, "so developing ‘crunchification’ was natural; a burger’s overall texture is just as important as flavor.”
The BBP at Maryland Live casino is at 7002 Arundel Mills Circle. The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m. and closes at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 a.m. otherwise. For more information go to www.bobbysburgerpalace.com.
