Suddenly, first anniversary parties are the thing for restaurants. And why not? The first year for a restaurant is a tough one, so who can blame them for wanting to celebrate? Call in some chef friends to lend a hand and give yourselves a big pat on the back.
Birroteca's Oct. 3 party will bring in The Food Market's Chad Gauss as its guest chef. Gauss will be bringing The Food Truck 450, his restaurant's new mobile catering unit. Inside, Birroteca will be serving pasta, pizza and porchetta.
The $35 ticket includes unlimited food and two drinks. That's from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A $100 VIP ticket includes unlimited food and drink throughout the evening and a preview hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with representatives from Union Craft Brewing, Evolution Craft Brewing Co., Burley Oak Brewing Co. and Millstone Cellars. All proceeds from the event go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Maryland Chapter.

Coming in to to help out the in-house team of Chris Becker, Chris Amendola and Bettina Perry at Fleet Street Kitchen's Oct. 13 party are Chad Gauss (of course), Brad Willits and Brendan Dorr from B&O Brasserie, Jonah Kim from Pabu, Doug Atwell from Rye, Cyrus Keefer from Fork & Wrench, Tae Strain, formerly of Demi in Belvedere Square and now at Manon in New York City.
The $39 ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, beer, cocktails and desserts. Proceeds from the event, which gets going at 6:30 p.m., go to The Red Devils, a non-profit supporting breast cancer families.
