Baltimore Restaurant Week is less than three weeks away. That won't  come soon enough for Baltimore restaurants, who took a beating from a slow and sultry holiday week.

Silo.5% Wine Bar in Locust Point, just a cannonball’s throw from Fort McHenery, is offering a War of 1812-inspired menu through Saturday. Menu items include venison jerky with fig chutney, rabbit pie, salt-cured ham with sauteed crab and, for dessert, a choice of apple wedge cobbler with ice cream or a rum and honey pecan pie with spiced clotted cream. The food can be paired with drinks like grog, fermented ginger beer, Madeira and sherry. The three-course menu is $33, but items can be ordered a la carte.

Blue Hill Tavern in Canton celebrates its fourth birthday on Thursday night, 6-10 p.m., with a party on its rooftop patio. The festivities include drink specials and complimentary "Blue Hill favorites." 

The Maryland Wineries Association hosts Locapour - Drink Local, a tasting event at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park on Thursday. The event will feature five Maryland cider and mead producers along with food vendors, live music and family activities. Tasting passes are $20 in advance and $25 at the entrance. Non-tasting passes are $10.  A complimentary shuttle will run between the Hunt Valley Light Rail stop and the event site.

The Gathering, Baltimore's roving food-truck gathering, took the holiday off, but it's back in business on Friday, when it returns to Keswick Castle in Hampden.  

Petit Louis in Roland Park is hosting a Bastille Day celebration on Sunday with a special menu featuring select items from the grill and other classic French fare along with a selection of wines, red berets and mustaches for all.  The cost is $50.

And Orchard Market and Cafe in Towson is celebrating Bastille Day on Sunday with its first Persian Parisian Nite. The event will feature a fixed-price Bastille Day menu and performances of Serge Gainsbourg by John Knight on the piano and accordion and student chanteurs and chanteuses. Jason Bulkeley, the owner of the Orchard Market, has promised to chant a few Gainsbourg tunes, too. The evening will also include special pastries from Patisserie Poupon and a French karaoke hour.
