Ray Lewis earned Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2000, heading a dominant defense that yielded only 165 points and allowed 970 rushing yards, both league bests. He was named Most Valuable Player in Super Bowl XXXV as the Ravens dismantled the New York Giants, 34-7, capturing the first championship in team history.
