Enter The Baltimore Sun's 2017 holiday cookie contest

Got a recipe guaranteed to empty the cookie jar? Enter the annual holiday cookie contest for a chance to see it in The Baltimore Sun.

New this year, we’ll be selecting winners in four categories:

Decorated: Do you make the prettiest cookies in all the land? Submit your recipe for edible reindeer, menorahs or other cookie designs that are almost too beautiful to eat.

Easy: Not everyone is a master baker. We’re looking for brilliantly simple (but still delicious) recipes that families can easily replicate.

Special diet: When classic cookie ingredients like flour, milk, sugar and eggs are off-limits, we improvise. Submit your vegan, gluten-free and other specialty recipes in this category.

Wild card: This category is open to all types of holiday cookies.

HOW TO ENTER

Fill out the form below with your recipe, a short essay, and your contact information by Monday, Nov. 6.

Tip: Avoid frustration with your internet browser by saving your recipe and essay in a word processing program. Then copy and paste the text into the form below.

NEXT STEPS

Finalists will be notified on or about Tuesday, Nov. 7. If you’re selected as a finalist, you’ll need to bring two-dozen cookies to The Baltimore Sun's downtown offices on Monday, Nov. 13 between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon.

Up to four winning recipes and 12 runners up will be selected based on taste, appearance and originality. Cookies will be photographed for a story that will appear online and in the Taste section after Thanksgiving.
