Racetrack

There was horse racing on this site even before there was a Maryland State Fair, so it's only fitting that any visit begin with a stop to watch the ponies run. Post time is 1 p.m. daily, with races going off throughout the day. For the full experience, buy a copy of either the Racing Form or the Past Performances booklet, place a bet, then scream until your voice goes hoarse as your thoroughbred of choice heads down the stretch. If your horse comes in, you could win enough to pay for the rest of your visit.
