The Mishaps
Hometown: Baltimore
Current members: Neal Page, vocals and guitar, Johnny Fisher, vocals, bass and guitar; Pietro DiGennaro, drums; Beth Harper, vocals and keyboards
Founded in: 2003
Style: rock 'n' roll
Influenced by: MC5, the Who, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, the Doors, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple
Notable: Tomorrow's show at the Talking Head is the official release party for the band's new vinyl single, "Rock 'n' Roll." A four-song CD sampler accompanies the single -- for people who don't have a record player, Page said. This is the band's first official release in several years. In that time, the members have listened to as much music as possible and refined their sound, he said.
Quotable: "The more stuff we listen to, the more we get influenced, and I think the more eclectic our songs get, but at the same time it strengthens our sound -- solidifies it," Page said. "We're just trying to be a band. Forget the classifications, forget the labeling, just play good music for good people and make it feel honest. That's where
we're coming from -- an honest place."
