Glimpsed: Harbor East

Black and white isn't just a classic look. It's also one of this spring's hottest trends. And Respira Medical sales rep Sara Collins pulls it off with great elan. This 24-year-old Canton resident loves taking a classic look and adding a trendy twist. How could a client refuse her?

Sara Collins

Age: 24

Residence: Canton

Job: Patient account-equipment sales representative for Respira Medical

Self-described style: "Classic, traditional and fun"

The look: White cap-sleeve top with black trim. Black-and-white striped tulip skirt. Black leather peep-toe pumps. White leather tote handbag. Silver-tone hoop earrings. Tortoise-shell sunglasses.

Where it came from: The top came from White House/Black Market. She found both the skirt and earrings at Express. Her shoes are from Baker's, and her handbag from Nine West. Her sunglasses are an Ann Taylor find.

Chic sells: "I love fashion. I feel like when you have on a good outfit. It makes you confident. ... I like classy and traditional. At the same time, I love to have fun with trends."

Shopping habit: "I shop about twice a week; Towson Town mall, I love South Moon Under; Columbia mall, United Colors of Benetton is one of my top favorites. White House/Black Market is another. ... Hey, if I find a good pair of jeans, if they're really expensive, it doesn't really matter. [Not] if it feels really good. I hate bargain shopping. I need organization and to easily be able to find everything. I hate rifling through clutter and disorganization [you find in many discount and department stores]. That gives me a headache. The only department store I'll go to here is Nordstrom."

Color transition: "Over the winter, I'm strictly black and white. My doctor [clients] say, 'You always wear black and white. What's up with that?' In the summer time, it's color, color, color. I love turquoise, pink and yellow. I love pastels. They're my signature over the summer."

Dresses for summer: "I'm obsessed with dresses in the summer. In the winter, it's more like cute coats. Coats that can make my outfit look more fashionable, since I'm in and out of my car, I want to be warm and look good."

Choosing shoes: "Shoes are a year-round obsession. The wedges are really comfortable. But heels are more classic."
