After 10 years on the job, Bolger says she still finds it thrilling. "I am most excited when I see people walking through galleries engaged in art and finding meaning to them," she says.

Currently she is busy working on the Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize art exhibition, in which one of six finalists will be awarded $25,000. "We have such great artists in this city," says Bolger, who resides in Charles Village.

1. Henri Matisse cutout for the BMA

"The BMA has the world's largest collection of his work, but we don't have a cutout. I would very much like the BMA to have one."

2. Vintage Miriam Haskell bracelet

"I have Miriam Haskell earrings and necklaces, but I don't have a bracelet. I want a bracelet encrusted in pearls and rhinestones."

3. Moss

"I would like fresh moss for my garden."

4. A trip to County Cork, Ireland, for my 60th birthday

"My family came from Ireland during the early 19th century. They left during the Great Famine. I would love to go there. I have never been."

5. More reason to draw

"I'd like to make drawings for people I know. ... They provide memory and fun in a world where we are moving around all the time."
