Are you ready to rock? Then head out to Columbia's own Merriweather Post Pavilion. This huge, popular outdoor concert spot has hosted some of rock's biggest names (Pearl Jam, Counting Crows and the female rock tour Lilith Fair) as well as classical, jazz and hip hop acts. Perennial favorite Jimmy Buffett consistently sells out his annual shows at Merriweather, and with 5,200 assigned seats and 10,000 lawn spots, Mr. Buffett's accomplishment is no small feat. The tickets range in price for act and location: Premium Gold Circle seats are assigned and close to the stage, pavilion seating is a little farther away but still assigned and lawn seats are first come first serve. If you are stuck with lawn seats, be sure to bring a blanket and plenty of bug spray. Merriweather concert tickets are available before the concert through ProTix, certain Waxie Maxie's locations, Record and Tape Traders stores and at the Merriweather box office the day of the concert. Ample parking is available by the Pavilion, but the lot gets quite crowded when all 15,200 concert-goers try to leave at the same time. --Kari Rosenthal
