Chicago: The 'Divergent' tour

In a war-torn Chicago of the future, civilization has split into five factions, and every 16-year-old must attend a Choosing Day ceremony where they pledge themselves to one group: Dauntless for the brave; Erudite for the intelligent; Candor for the honest; Amity for the peaceful; and Abnegation for the selfless. But protagonist Tris is secretly a member of a feared minority: the Divergent, who don't fit neatly into one group. That's the premise behind local YA author Veronica Roth's smash hit "Divergent" trilogy. She incorporated real-life Chicago landmarks when writing the novels, and the big-budget film version, which opens March 21 (no doubt the tween in your life has told you), filmed here last spring. Take a tour of five key locations of the faction-led future, with tips on how to experience the places in the present. Web Behrens
