( January 17, 2013 ) Femi Kuti, heir to the Afrobeat kingdom created by his father, the late Fela, returns to Metro with the Positive Force band. Kuti's 2012 performance, as described in the Tribune's review, "propelled itself along on a bedrock of skittering, shuffling grooves, the frenetic pace broken up by stop-on-a-dime shifts and unified blasts of brass from the five-piece horn section that recalled James Brown by way of West Africa."
